Native Plants and Permaculture

Description

You may have previously heard permaculture discussed concerning landscaping and agriculture, but you may think… isn’t permaculture just sustainable farming? What permaculture is, is a philosophy and a style of agriculture that relies on our natural ecosystems.  The Australian researcher Bill Mollison, who first coined the term in 1978, said it was “the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with people providing their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way” Invigorating sustainability impacts with talent pool training. This Material Supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #11 and #13.

I really enjoyed learning the different government regulation considerations around native permaculture, and how targets are being set. It really made me think about the local plants in the area I’m living and how I could help invasive species removal, and begin identifying them.
